Hi! I'm Asher!
As a student at Latitude 37.8 High School in Oakland, California, curiosity, connection, and a passion for conservation and education shape who I am.
Working as a Docent at the Aquarium of the Bay taught me how to build empathy quickly, advocate for my beliefs, and spark interest in people from all backgrounds and ages. Marine biology became the bridge between my love for the natural world and my desire to help others understand it.
Playing Brawl Stars competitively taught me discipline and what it means to truly apply myself. Frisbee showed me how to chase goals—literally and figuratively—and how much progress comes from consistency, collaboration, and the willingness to try new approaches.
At the Resnick Aspen Action Forum, I participated in Socratic-style discussions about complex topics with global leaders, which taught me how to listen, question, and think critically with people from all walks of life. They reminded me how much I love learning and how naturally curiosity drives me.
I write poetry to express feelings I can’t quite name, make sense of shared experiences, and explore ideas that matter. The more I’ve written, the more I’ve realized that poetry is a tool for connection—a way to shape meaning and communicate what’s hard to say outright.
I want my work to contribute to something real—something that improves lives, strengthens communities, or protects the world we share. Everything I’ve experienced so far has given me the curiosity, empathy, and motivation to pursue that work.
